Description
The Economy of Our Salvation
This Antimension is a true masterpiece of theological instruction. While the central image depicts the reverent burial of the Lord (Epitaphios), it is surrounded by a vibrant and intricate border that tells the complete story of our salvation—the Divine Economy.
Nested within a beautiful floral motif, detailed icons depict the pivotal moments of the Lord’s earthly life, including the Mystical Supper, the Crucifixion, the Transfiguration, and the glorious Resurrection. This design serves not only as a sacred cloth for the Eucharist but as a visual proclamation that the Passion cannot be separated from the Victory of Christ.
Remastered & Prepared by Monks
At the Sacred Monastery of St. John of the Ladder in Boetia, Greece, we have carefully remastered this authentic Byzantine prototype. The vibrant colors and fine Greek script have been preserved to ensure clarity and beauty.
Custom Backing Options
We offer this Antimension in two formats to suit your specific liturgical needs:
- With Red Backing: Our brotherhood will hand-sew a traditional red iliton backing onto the Antimension in our workshop, ensuring a secure, durable, and professional finish ready for regular use.
- Without Backing (Cloth Only): This option includes a generous white border for you to sew your own backing. This is the required choice if the Antimension is intended for the Consecration of a Temple, preventing any risk of color run from the holy chrism and oils used during the rite.
