Our Athonite Night Flower Incense is inspired by one such marvel—the Cestrum Nocturnum, a humble flower that waits for the sun to set before releasing its delicate perfume. The aroma is sweet, musky, and mysterious; a fragrance that helps to quiet the soul and focus the mind. It fosters an atmosphere of deep peace and tranquility, perfectly suited for the sacred stillness of a late-night prayer vigil or the final prayers before sleep.
A Labor of Prayer & Tradition
As an offering from our monastery, this incense is handcrafted in a spirit of prayer, honoring the centuries-old Athonite traditions:
- We begin with pure Ethiopian frankincense, ground to a fine, golden powder.
- This powder is saturated with a high-quality, fragrant night flower oil and kneaded by hand into a dough.
- The mixture is carefully rolled, dusted with magnesia for a perfect consistency, and then hand-cut into small, individual pieces.
- Finally, the incense is cured for over 30 days, allowing the rich aromas to fully mature into the sublime fragrance we offer to you.
An Offering of Faith

The proceeds from our handiwork directly sustain our self-funded monastic brotherhood and support the monastery that we rebuilt, by the grace of God, after it was destroyed in an earthquake.
