Our brotherhood has taken this concept and elevated its purpose. Through prayer and craft, we have transformed this symbol of temporal honor into a glorious and exalted essence suitable for the adornment of the divine Church services. It has been perfected not for a worldly court, but as a humble offering to our Heavenly Queen, the Most Holy Theotokos. It is a fragrance that takes the best of worldly beauty and re-consecrates it for the highest heavenly honor.
A Secret Blend, A Sacred Process
While the exact aromatic oils in this blend are a treasured secret of our monastery, the method of its creation honors the same transparent, centuries-old Athonite tradition:
- We begin with pure Ethiopian frankincense, ground to a fine, golden powder.
- This powder is saturated with our secret Marie Antoinette blend and kneaded by hand into a dough.
- The mixture is carefully rolled, dusted with magnesia for a perfect consistency, and cut into small pieces.
- Finally, the incense is cured for over 30 days, allowing the aromas to fully mature into the magnificent fragrance we offer to you.
