In our monastery, we continue the tradition of pressing our own candles from pure beeswax. You can have one of these handcrafted candles lit at our monastery as a simple act of almsgiving.

In times past, the faithful in Greece brought their own olive oil to their local churches and monasteries as offerings for the vigil lamps. Today, with a few exceptions, this tradition has largely faded, and for a small monastery like ours the responsibility of keeping the vigil lamps fueled falls mostly on us. Your contribution of $3 helps us maintain this sacred and pious tradition. It provides enough support to keep a vigil lamp burning for a full day.
